Summer is almost here...songs to make you feel good

Summer is only a month away, and now that the weather is just starting to warm up i would like to introduce some of my favorite summer songs from my vast collection of records that i play at the sea club bar.

My first choice is a track from the "The Isley Brothers" successful album "3+3" released in 1973 called "Summer Breeze". The Original song was written by Seals & Croft in 1972, but The Isley Brothers has to be by far the best version made of this great song, full of great harmonies that get you into the summer mood.
"Listen to Summer Breeze"

My second choice has to be Otis Redding cover version of The Temptations chart topper "My Girl", his version was never released in the US but did peak at number 11 in the UK charts in 1965. The song has more of a traditional blues flavour to it than the temptations version and i do find that Otis redding's voice really brings the soul out of this song.
"Listen to My Girl"

My third choice has to be The Beach Boys, to tell you the truth there are about 10 songs from the beach boys that will get you into the summer mood but i have decided to choose their first single "Surfin'" released in  1961. Did you know that the beach boys were called the pendletones right before the release of their first single but for publicity reasons the name was changed to beach boys.

My Final Choice is a song that most of you have heard before, but probably not the original recording, as this song is one of the most covered songs in history. It was written in 1963 by Bobby Hebb (not released until 1966), following the deaths of John Kennedy and his brother  Harold hebb. Bobby just wanted to think of happier times and wrote this fantastic but tragic song "Sunny"

I will soon post more songs on here for you to listen to, keep up to date with all the sea club events at The Sea Club
